Anti-Money Laundering

...

Betmatik.com [Socas International B.V.] is obliged to put in place appropriate systems and controls to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing, under the Anti Money Laundering (AML) regulations of 2017. The policy set out on this page includes the procedures we have developed to comply with these obligations.

What is Money Laundering?

Money laundering is the process by which the proceeds of crime and their true origin and ownership are altered so that the proceeds appear legitimate.

Why is money laundering prevention important to us?

The anti-money laundering (AML) regime is designed to prevent the use of our services by criminals. Under the AML regime, you have an obligation to detect and report money laundering. Failure to comply with these obligations can result in criminal penalties, substantial fines and major damage to your and our reputation.

Regulations

Money Laundering Regulations require an organization to have a nominated authority to ensure that it is up-to-date on Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing issues throughout the organization, implements appropriate policies and procedures, and receives suspicious reports.

Within the scope of these regulations;

1. Due to the ever-evolving regulations regarding the prevention of criminal activities and money laundering and the financing of terrorism, our company strictly follows anti-money laundering (AML) guidelines and procedures.

2. Betmatik.com customers are subject to a DD process and record keeping.

3. Duplicate/Multiple Accounts: Many customers want to use parallel accounts to separate their gambling spending. Regardless of this activity, licensees must be able to identify and associate "linked" accounts that may or may not belong to the same person.

4. Politically Exposed Persons (PEP). Risk to respond to gambling attempts by any suitably qualified Politically Exposed Person, i.e. any person holding an important public office (or holding at any time during the previous year), accessing public funds, or by persons in positions of influence. must take action on a sensitive basis.

PEPs include easily identifiable family and partners of such persons. A risk-based approach should be applied, based on the value and scale of the gamble and the location of such clients.
